One week ago I was really stoked to report that I’d lost 15 pounds. Today, a week later, I’ve lost another 6.8. I’m not sure exactly how it happened, but something changed, and, WOW! I actually hit 20 on Sunday morning, but I didn’t bother to crow about it because it was Mother’s Day, and I was having brunch at the East Bank Club with Mom. I did go up half a pound, but now I’m down over a pound.
I’m trying to figure out what’s causing it. I have felt that I wasn’t losing fast enough. I’ve been going down a bit over two pounds a week, which is supposed to be normal for dieting, but I would expect it to be more, somehow.
Here’s the thing, though. I have a memory of being on this diet before and losing 40 pounds in ten weeks. Since tomorrow marks eight weeks since I started, I was really kind of freaked that I had barely hit 15. But I just went and looked at the weight loss chart for my 2010 attempt, and I’m pretty much on track. It’s hard to tell because I’m numbering the weeks differently—I really have to do a table—but I didn’t reach 40 pounds until my 21st week last time, so I’m doing well.
As for causes, I’m making sure to drink enough water, even on the weekends, and trying to get enough sleep. The only really new thing is I’ve been eating yogurt with sugar free jam. I wonder if that is it. I’ll have to buy more yogurt when I go to the grocery store.
